Basketball Recap: Brylah Scott Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Riverside Christian Academy

The Hoke County Bucks beat the Riverside Christian Academy Royals 52-43 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bucks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hoke County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brylah Scott, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Karmen Campbell, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Hoke County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverside Christian Academy only pulled down eight.

Several Royals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Helena Mujinga, who posted eight points and ten boards. Mujinga is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Haylee Walters was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Hoke County's record is now 2-0. As for Riverside Christian Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Hoke County will head out to challenge St. Pauls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverside Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on American Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 4.
