Baseball Recap: Santa Fe's Win Ends Ten-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Belen, Santa Fe was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes, sneaking past 8-7. The Demons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Elks/Elkettes, too.

Austin Tokoroyoma was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Gallegos, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Santa Fe's win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Pojoaque Valley, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Santa Fe beat Pojoaque Valley by a score of 12-3 later that day.
