Basketball Recap: Middleburgh Takes a Loss

Middleburgh lost against Duanesburg back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Middleburgh Knights were dealt a 99-52 loss at the hands of the Duanesburg Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while the Eagles are ranked 88th).

The defeat snapped Middleburgh's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-10 record. As for Duanesburg, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Middleburgh will host Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Duanesburg, they are taking a road trip to take on Johnstown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Johnstown has won eight straight at home, while Duanesburg won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
