Basketball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin lost against Ridgedale back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. 2025 welcomed the Elgin Comets with a 54-29 loss courtesy of the Ridgedale Rockets. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Ridgedale, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elgin will head out to take on Tree of Life Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tree of Life Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Elgin likes a good challenge. As for Ridgedale, they will face off against Liberty Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgedale is facing Liberty Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Liberty Christian Academy is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
