Soccer Recap: Berry Comes Up Short

Berry came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-0 to the South Mecklenburg Sabres. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Sabres are ranked 87th).

Berry moved to 4-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matches. As for South Mecklenburg, the victory got them back to even at 3-3-1.
