Volleyball Recap: Sparta Comes Up Short

If Sparta was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Gainesville on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans came up short against the Fordland Eagles on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss last Saturday.

Izzy (Mary) Campbell paced Sparta's offense, picking up nine kills. Campbell got some help from Reese Loveland and her 19 assists. Raylee Dorman controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 8-20-3. As for Fordland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-5-1.

Sparta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fordland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Cabool on the 25th.
