Softball Recap: Lapeer Takes a Loss

Lapeer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Dow Chargers, falling 16-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lightning of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Lapeer saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Breana Fantin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Lapeer's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dow, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3.

Coming up, Lapeer will take on Carman-Ainsworth at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dow, they will face off against Lapeer East at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
