Soccer Recap: Rabun County Takes a Loss

If Rabun County was feeling good fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Banks County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 6-0 to the Athens Academy Spartans on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Rabun County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 369th, while Athens Academy are ranked 85th).

Rabun County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Athens Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

Rabun County and Athens Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Wildcats see the pitch they'll take on Highlands at 5:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Athens Academy, their break will end when they face Madison County at 5:00 p.m. on the 15th.
