Softball Recap: Gilbert Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Gilbert unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 26-0 to the Nonnewaug Chiefs on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Nonnewaug has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Gilbert will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Thomaston at 3:45 p.m. on the 16th. As for Nonnewaug, they have already played their next contest, a 9-2 victory against Northwestern Regional on the 10th.
