Baseball Game Preview: Seymour Thunder vs. Freedom Irish

The Seymour Thunder will square off against the Freedom Irish at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Seymour has three straight victories, Freedom has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Seymour sidestepped Notre Dame Academy for a 6-5 win.

Micah Byers was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Freedom nor Oconto Falls made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Irish fell 8-4 to the Panthers.

Seymour's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Freedom, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
