Football Recap: Oglethorpe County Skates Past Providence Christian Academy with Ease

Oglethorpe County lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Providence Christian Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Patriots claimed a resounding 34-7 victory over the Storm. The win was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won three contests in a row.

Oglethorpe County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caden Hartrum led the charge by rushing for 65 yards and a pair of TDs. Hartrum also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Patriots are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. O'Maury Huggs was another key rusher, rushing for 89 yards and one score on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Oglethorpe County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 365 rushing yards. They are 4-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Oglethorpe County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Providence Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Oglethorpe County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 42-20 victory against Banks County on the 31st. As for Providence Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-0 loss against Commerce on the 31st.
