Baseball Game Preview: Waukee Warriors vs. Northwest Wolves

Waukee has won four straight games at home, while Northwest has won four straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Warriors will host the Wolves at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Waukee 2.2, Northwest 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Waukee lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Johnston, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Dragons on Monday. Considering the Warriors have won five games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Northwest was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They came up short against Valley, falling 10-2. The matchup marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Northwest fell to 7-1. As for Waukee, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.

Waukee skirted past Northwest 6-5 in their previous meeting back in June of 2025. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
