Softball Game Preview: Princeton Tigers vs. St. Francis Fighting Saints

The Princeton Tigers will head out to square off against the St. Francis Fighting Saints at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Princeton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Princeton fell victim to North Branch and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since April 8th.

Meanwhile, St. Francis sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over Elk River on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Fighting Saints.

St. Francis' victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Princeton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-6.

Princeton skirted past St. Francis 2-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
