Carthage has gone 9-1 against Watertown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Comets will challenge the Cyclones at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Carthage lost 8-2 to Beaver River on Wednesday. The Comets have struggled against the Beavers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Watertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Cortland, falling 12-2.

Watertown's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Carthage, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Carthage was able to grind out a solid victory over Watertown when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
