Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Andrea Olivera and Valentina Amador Lead Coral Gables to Victory

There's no place like home for Coral Gables, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions on Wednesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-13, 25-14.

Coral Gables was led to victory by Valentina Amador and Andrea Olivera. Amador had 14 digs, while Olivera had four digs. Those 14 digs gave Amador a new career-high.

Coral Gables was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Immaculata-La Salle still got an impressive performance from Gabrielle VonTeuber, who had 16 digs and three assists. Elena Figueroa Valcourt also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Coral Gables has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Immaculata-La Salle, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Coral Gables wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Miami Beach on the 9th. As for Immaculata-La Salle, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Sports Leadership & Management on the 14th.
