Basketball Recap: East Alton-Wood River Comes Up Short

East Alton-Wood River lost against Breese Central back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The East Alton-Wood River Oilers were outmatched by the Breese Central Cougars and fell 66-26. While losing is never fun, the Oilers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while the Cougars are ranked fourth).

East Alton-Wood River's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Breese Central, their victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-2.

East Alton-Wood River will face off against Roxana at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Breese Central, they will square off against Columbia at 7:40 p.m. on Thursday. Columbia will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Breese Central surely won't give up without a fight.
