Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Centennial

With a playoff win on the line, Centennial rose to the challenge on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Palm Beach Central Broncos 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Hailey Brereton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Centennial secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Kylie Coblentz, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Centennial's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Palm Beach Central, they dropped their record down to 13-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Centennial will venture away from home to challenge Wellington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3, the Wolverines 1.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Palm Beach Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
