Softball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Wins Going Away Against Baldwin

The matchup between Thomas Jefferson and Baldwin on Wednesday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Jaguars blew past the Highlanders 14-5. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Jaguars considering their one-run performance the match before.

Ali Chalovich was a standout: she fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Alayna Grese was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Chalovich wasn't the only one making solid contact: Thomas Jefferson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Baldwin only managed ten hits.

Thomas Jefferson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.3 runs. As for Baldwin, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Thomas Jefferson is taking a road trip to square off against Non Varsity Opponent at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Baldwin, they will host Connellsville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
