Softball Recap: Westhill Starts Season with Victory at Home

Westhill gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Homer Trojans with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Samantha Snyder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Snyder was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cadence Ramsing, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Sydney Medeiros was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.

Looking ahead, Westhill will face off against Christian Brothers Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Homer, they will square off against McGraw at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
