Basketball Recap: Deering Takes a Loss

Deering lost against South Portland back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Deering Rams took a 66-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Portland Red Riots. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Red Riots are ranked eighth).

Deering has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for South Portland, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Deering will welcome Cheverus at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Portland, they are taking a road trip to take on Gorham at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
