Football Recap: Padua Franciscan Skates Past Sandusky with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Padua Franciscan). They blew past the Sandusky Blue Streaks 47-13 on Friday. This was payback for the Bruins, who suffered a 28-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Padua Franciscan can attribute much of their success to Landon Hanover, who threw for 186 yards and two TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Padua Franciscan, adding 16 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Brady Devore, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Padua Franciscan's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Sandusky, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.

Coming up, Padua Franciscan will welcome Elyria Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bruins' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Sandusky, they will take on Vermilion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
