Softball Recap: Littlerock Comes Up Short

Littlerock had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-1 to make it five. They lost 26-16 to the Knight Hawks. The Lobos were not able to make up for their loss to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Knight, the win got them back to even at 1-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

For Knight's part, the team relied heavily on Zaydie Carrillo, who fired off two home runs, six runs, and seven RBI while going 5-for-5. Those seven RBI gave Carrillo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Desiree Ahumada, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and two doubles.

Littlerock wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-0 defeat against Quartz Hill on the 12th. As for Knight, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-5 loss against Eastside on the 12th.
