Softball Game Preview: Carmi-White County Bulldogs vs. Johnston City Indians

The Carmi-White County Bulldogs will face off against the Johnston City Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Fairfield hit Carmi-White County with a four-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Mules by a score of 7-6.

Mia Evans was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Caroline Simmons, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Johnston City ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Mater Dei 10-9. The win was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won three contests in a row.

The team relied heavily on Lilli Armes, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Zoee Cullum was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.

Johnston City's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Carmi-White County, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
