Preview: Fuquay - Varina Bengals vs. Willow Spring Storm
The Fuquay - Varina Bengals will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Willow Spring Storm at 7:30 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Monday, things could have been worse for Fuquay - Varina, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 31-14 loss to South Garner.
Meanwhile, Willow Spring's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 49-6 loss at the hands of Clayton. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Laden Beckwith put forth a good effort for the losing side as he picked up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown. Beckwith was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 64 yards.
Fuquay - Varina's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.3 points per game. As for Willow Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
