Baseball Recap: May River Sharks vs. Chesnee Eagles
May River picked up another tournament win on Friday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Chesnee Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sharks.
Tysen Brasington was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other pitching news, Logan Hargis looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Trace Mischik was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Fergus Varley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
May River's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Chesnee, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-3.
Looking ahead, May River will take on Bishop England in a tournament on Saturday. As for Chesnee, they will welcome Broome at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
