Basketball Recap: Jeffrey Valentine's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mount Olive Christian over Faith Training Christian Academy

Mount Olive Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 49-32 bruising from Faith Training Christian Academy. Mount Olive Christian lost against Faith Training Christian Academy in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 76-24 score last time.

Mount Olive Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jeffrey Valentine, who posted five points and nine rebounds. Valentine has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dylan Lewis, who had 17 points and seven rebounds.

Faith Training Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chapel Blakeney, who put up ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Lewis, who earned nine points.

Mount Olive Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Faith Training Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Mount Olive Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-48 win against Northeast Baptist on the 5th. As for Faith Training Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-31 victory against Harvest Time Christian Academy on the 5th.
