Softball Game Preview: Redwood Rangers vs. El Diamante Miners

The Redwood Rangers will take on the El Diamante Miners at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Redwood will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Redwood's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Golden West. Considering the Rangers have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Jackie Ramirez's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, Rayah Rodriguez was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Jaden Lopez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Redwood hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, El Diamante didn't have quite enough to beat Porterville on Tuesday and fell 5-4.

Redwood's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for El Diamante, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13-1 record this season.

Everything went Redwood's way against El Diamante in their previous matchup back in April, as Redwood made off with a 12-0 victory. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Miners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
