Softball Recap: Bradford Prep Takes a Loss

If Bradford Prep was feeling good fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Corvian Community on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bradford Prep took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Corvian Community on Friday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 10-4.

Emma Patheal was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Patheal wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Bradford Prep lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Bradford Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. Corvian Community's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bradford Prep will venture away from home to square off against Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy on Tuesday. As for Corvian Community, they will head out to take on Christ the King at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Christ the King has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.75 runs per game on average), something Corvian Community will no doubt try to take advantage of.
