Baseball Recap: Canby Snags 13th Victory in Last 14 Games

Canby barely beat La Salle the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Wednesday. Considering the Cougars have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Canby has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for La Salle, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Canby is set to challenge their familiar foe Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, La Salle will square off against rival Wilsonville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Falcons 2.9, the Wildcats 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
