Preview: Kenwood vs. Kirby

The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Kirby will square off against Kenwood at 7:00 PM on Friday. Kirby are cruising in on a six-game winning streak while Kenwood are stumbling in off of three consecutive losses.

Kirby won against Munford two weeks ago with 33 points, and Kirby decided to stick to that point total again last Friday. Everything went Kirby way against Overton as they made off with a 33-6 victory. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for Kirby, who can brag about seven blowout wins.

Meanwhile, it never fun to lose, and it even less fun to lose 7-63, which was the final score in Kenwood's tilt against Dyer County. The state rankings had actually given Kenwood a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

Kirby's win lifted them to 9-1 while Kenwood's loss dropped them down to 3-7. Kirby have been dynamite on the offensive side of the ball, averaging 43.6 points per game. We'll see if Kenwood can find some way to disarm them.
