After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Green Valley, Sultana was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Beaumont Cougars a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Sultans have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Savannah Vanderpool made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Jordan Mullinax was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Avery Rodriguez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Sultana was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Sultana's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Beaumont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Sultana and Beaumont should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Sultana (ranked 280th) will meet Burroughs (ranked 612th) at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Beaumont will take on Oak Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday up 356 places (101 vs. 457).
