Melba came out on top against New Plymouth on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Pilgrims with a sharp 8-2 victory. Cooper Brooks made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.
