Softball Game Preview: Foard Tigers vs. Hickory Red Tornadoes

For the second straight game, Foard will face off against Hickory. The Tigers will head out to challenge the Red Tornadoes at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Foard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Foard took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hickory a 12-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the match before.

Karsyn Sigmon made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Livi Queen was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-3. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Brooklyn Keener also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Foard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Foard now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Hickory, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
