Volleyball Recap: Fort Mill Starts Season with Win on the Road

Fort Mill had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the James F. Byrnes Rebels 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellow Jackets have posted since August 24, 2024.

Fort Mill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matty Klemm, who had 14 assists and two aces. That's the most aces Klemm has posted since back in October of 2024.

Fort Mill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Socastee on the 23rd. James F. Byrnes has also already played their next contest (against Blythewood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
