Purvis faced Our Lady Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Tornadoes took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crescents. The Tornadoes' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-16, 22-25, 25-22, 25-13.

Despite the loss, Purvis still got an impressive performance from Brooxie Shepherd, who had 17 digs and one assist. Shepherd is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Leading Our Lady Academy to victory were Mackenzie Knoblock and Taylor Henley. Knoblock had 11 digs and one assist, while Henley had 20 kills, nine digs, four blocks, and three aces. Those 20 kills gave Henley a new career-high.

Purvis' defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Our Lady Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.
