Baseball Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

Southside was the 6-0 winner over Fort Payne when they last played one another back in February of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Tuesday. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Southside's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 19-6. As for Fort Payne, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.

While Southside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
