Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Ashville

Ashville waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Weaver Bearcats. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bearcats, too.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Ashville was: they took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14.

Lydia Northam paced Ashville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Northam got some help from Ryleigh Cothran and her 15 assists. Northam also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Evelyn Dole, racking up two apiece.

Ashville's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Weaver, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.

Ashville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Cleburne County on the 28th. As for Weaver, they will venture away from home to take on Piedmont at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
