Soccer Recap: Memorial Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

On Friday, the Memorial Mavericks beat the Decatur Eagles 3-1. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Eagles are ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Memorial's win bumped their record up to 6-1-1. As for Decatur, they now have a losing record at 4-5-2.

Memorial will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Decatur has already played their next contest (against Sanger), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
