Volleyball Recap: Northern York Starts Season with Victory at Home

Northern York gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Shippensburg Greyhounds by a score of 3-1. The Polar Bears haven't had any issues with the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Northern York had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-16, 25-21, 25-16.

Hayden Martin and Emma Dyson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Martin had 12 digs and eight assists, while Dyson had six kills, four digs, and four aces.

Shippensburg is on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Northern York wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against James Buchanan on the 28th. As for Shippensburg, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Greencastle-Antrim on the 28th.
