The Firestone Falcons will challenge the Ellet Orangemen at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Firestone is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Firestone will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Buchtel on Monday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Griffins with a sharp 18-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Griffins: they've now won nine in a row.

Noah Liming made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tony Miller and Skyler Nespo did most of the damage at the plate: Miller got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Nespo went 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Nespo has posted since back in April. Luke Rhamy was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Firestone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Ellet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Barberton.
Firestone's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Ellet, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Ellet's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Firestone hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. It's a different story for Ellet, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Firestone's hitters?
Firestone took their win against Ellet when the teams last played on Friday by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Orangemen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
