Baseball Recap: Evangelical Christian Takes a Loss

Evangelical Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Naples on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 7-6. The Sentinels were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Eagles earlier this season, when they won 5-3.

Ryder Lutz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Easton Mauler also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Evangelical Christian is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10. As for Naples, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evangelical Christian will challenge Aubrey Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aubrey Rogers will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Evangelical Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Naples, they will take on Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Naples is facing Bonita Springs at the right time seeing as Bonita Springs is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
