            Flag Football Recap: Green Mountain Rams vs. Chatfield Chargers        
        
		
        
        
            
The matchup between Green Mountain and Chatfield  on Monday hardly resembled the  13-12 effort from their previous meeting. The Rams took  a  34-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. The defensive woes were  uncharacteristic for the Rams, who until this  game were averaging 8.67  points allowed.
Despite the  loss, Green Mountain saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Marissa VanGuilder picked up 93 receiving yards and a pair of  touchdowns. VanGuilder has been hot, having also posted two or more  receiving touchdowns the last five times she's  played.
 Green Mountain didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Scarlet Thomsen and  Maddie Amolsch. Amolsch got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.

The  defeat snapped Green Mountain's winning streak at five games  and leaves them with a 9-3 record. As for Chatfield,  the  win  got them back to even at 6-6.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Mountain will host Arvada West  at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Chatfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ralston Valley  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
