Baseball Game Preview: Lucy Beckham Bengals vs. Berkeley Stags

For the second straight game, Lucy Beckham will face off against Berkeley. Lucy Beckham will be playing in front of their home fans against Berkeley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lucy Beckham's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Berkeley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, Lucy Beckham didn't have quite enough to beat Berkeley and fell 4-3.

Levi Srock was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Ryan Roggin was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riles Morris, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Lucy Beckham hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Lucy Beckham's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-5. As for Berkeley, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
