Recap: Mountain View Bears vs. Walton Raiders
The Mountain View Bears and the Walton Raiders squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Mountain View Bears had to settle for second. Mountain View was outmatched by Walton on the road and fell 66-7. Mountain View was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-0.
Jeremy Hecklinski was his usual excellent self, throwing for 206 yards and five touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes. Hunter Teal also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Walton's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Lota Ugokwe was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Mountain View's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-7. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Walton, Mill Creek, and Buford. As for Walton, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Walton will take on North Gwinnett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Gwinnett is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
