Baseball Recap: Palisades' Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Palisades had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves. The result was nothing new for the Pumas, who have now won six matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Palisades let Israel Clase and Lincoln Wise run wild. Clase scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Wise scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Wise is becoming a predictor of Palisades' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Cameron Forsythe, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Palisades was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in three consecutive games.

Palisades' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Ballantyne Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.

Palisades didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-2 defeat against Lake Norman on the 2nd. Hopefully Ballantyne Ridge payed attention to the Pumas' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Pumas at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
