Basketball Game Preview: Northeast Eagles vs. Clarksville Wildcats

Northeast is 0-10 against Clarksville since January of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Northeast Eagles will be playing at home against the Clarksville Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Northeast is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Kenwood, falling 70-30. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 40 points.

Qimara Summers put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted nine points in addition to six boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Emily Yancey also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Clarksville didn't have quite enough to beat Rossview on Friday and fell 47-44. The loss put an end to the Wildcats' undefeated start to the season.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Clarksville, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-1.

Northeast was taken down by Clarksville 68-27 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Clarksville's Malon Smith, who went 8 for 14 to rack up 26 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
