Baseball Recap: Southampton Comes Up Short

Southampton lost against Pierson back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mariners fell just short of the Whalers by a score of 4-3. The Mariners' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Southampton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Dupree, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. James Dudley also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Southampton's record is now 2-5. As for Pierson, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

While Southampton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
