Spring-Ford has gone 9-1 against Boyertown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Rams will head out on the road to take on the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Spring-Ford's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Boyertown's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Spring-Ford took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Council Rock South, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams never let the Golden Hawks get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since April 2nd.
The result came thanks to Jess Fliszar's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks.
Methacton typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Boyertown proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Warriors 14-2. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.
Kyra Neiswender was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Neiswender was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Rielynn Carey was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Aubrey Kern also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Boyertown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups.
Boyertown is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Spring-Ford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.
Spring-Ford beat Boyertown 9-6 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
