Football Game Preview: Gehlen Catholic Jays vs. Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Royals

Gehlen Catholic is 7-2 against Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union since August of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on November 7. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another. Gehlen Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past West Hancock with points to spare, taking the game 34-18.

Meanwhile, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Belmond-Klemme to the tune of 49-7. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Broncos are ranked 205th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gehlen Catholic's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.

Gehlen Catholic might still be hurting after the 28-7 defeat they got from Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union when the teams last played on October 3rd. Can the Jays avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
