Basketball Recap: Solvay Comes Up Short

Solvay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 55-35 to the Cortland Purple Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Purple Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-33 two weeks ago.

Cortland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Iniko Abani out in front who went 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points. Abani is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Owen Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points.

Solvay's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Cortland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.

As of now, neither Solvay nor Cortland have any future games scheduled.
